OPICA is a non-profit that aims to provide a wider range of services than a full-time caregiver, offering a variety of cognition enriching art, music and physical activities that enhances the quality of life for adults with dementia. As the first Adult Day Program and Counseling Center in Los Angeles, OPICA has been serving adults challenged with memory loss and their families in the West Los Angeles area for40 years. OPICA provides comprehensive programming specifically focused on all stages of memory loss in a nurturing environment. Offerings include cognitive stimulation activities, such as therapeutic art and music, brain fitness, counseling, education, and The OPICA Brain Train early memory loss program. OPICA fills a critical need as one of the leading not-for-profit community-based organizations focused solely on memory loss.
OPICA’s mission is to enable adults impaired by memory disorders to continue to live at home by:
- Providing compassionate and stimulating day programs
- Supporting family caregivers through counselling and respite
- Increasing community understanding of memory disorders through education, resource referral, and professional training.
Provide a frame of reference for making decisions that constantly seek to improve our service delivery to our members. They contribute daily to the general atmosphere of OPICA and guide us daily in our practice of public service to our community.
