SUPPORT FOR OLDER ADULTS WITH MEMORY LOSS AND THEIR FAMILIES

Why Do Savvy CAREgivers Utilize Respite Services?

For people who are challenged with memory loss, and for those who care for them, days are long and full of needs. Savvy caregivers understand that it is particularly important that they take regular breaks from care obligations to allow for recuperation, relaxation and stress relief. Respite services provide family CAREgivers a well-deserved reprieve, along with the peace of mind that their loved one continues to receive support in a safe and nurturing environment.

OPICA has partnered with families of dementia clients for more than 35 years, supporting them during their loved one’s journey by making available resources and programs that provide respite. Many of our programs can be used as much or as little as desired. Art Therapy, Yoga For The Brain ™, Low impact Tai Chi and Aerobics, Live Music, and Speech Therapy are a few of our offerings that not only afford respite but significantly impact overall quality of life for dementia clients and their support systems.

In addition to respite services, OPICA’s Counseling Center provides a place for solidarity, guidance, and fortification for loved ones and other care providers. We strive to be a place of hope and refuge, where the challenges of dementia can become unexpected blessings that enhance the lives of entire families.

Our support matters. CAREgivers deserve our encouragement, thoughtfulness, and efforts. To learn more about the ways OPICA supports CAREgivers click HERE.
