We Applaud AD Advocates Lauren & Seth Rogen

Seth Rogen and his wife, Lauren Miller, witnessed her mother lose her ability to speak, feed, and dress herself, all by age 60. Their journey motivated them to create Hilarity for Charity (HFC), a movement to inspire awareness of Alzheimer’s disease among the millennial generation.

“Many young people don’t understand Alzheimer’s. How it ravages the person who has it, and how it can truly test the family who loves them. So, we’re trying to build awareness, which will hopefully lead to money, research, and care.” says Lauren about the charity. HFC has taken innovative approaches to building support for Alzheimer’s research including a recurring Los Angeles Variety Show that entertains young professionals with music and comedy while creating the next generation of Alzheimer’s advocates.

In 2014, HFC expanded by launching HFC U, a nationwide program that encourages and supports college organizations to throw their very own HFC event. To date, HFC U has partnered with more than 230 schools and raising over $200,000. HFC has raised over $4.2 million in four years.

At OPICA we understand the power of advocacy and we applaud the efforts of HFC wholeheartedly! To learn more about Rogen’s motivations check out his video interview HERE.
