OPICA celebrated its 30th anniversary in April 2009. OPICA is proud of its legacy as the first Adult Day Care Center in the City of Los Angeles and continues to be a model for program development and internships.

OPICA stands for Older Persons Information and Counseling Associates, however; the members of OPICA prefer to refer to acronym as “Optimistic People In a Caring Atmosphere.”

OPICA offers on site comprehensive counseling services for care partners and is the only Adult Day Care program open on Saturdays, providing for respite care needs on weekends.

Our approach is based on mindfulness of the present. Our compassionate, caring staff is our greatest asset. We provide stimulating and therapeutic cognitive and sensory programs that actively engage our members.

OPICA also provides caregiver support groups, early memory loss support groups, individual counseling and early memory loss programs (The Brain Train.)
